Qually:
With a few of the drivers away to watch the real F1 race in Melbourne we had an honest compliment of drivers still present to launch the season. A few rookies to join this year for the start of Racecentre's F1 season. Last years runner up Scott McDonald is stating his intension for one btter by posting a 1:27.637. Thats over a second ahead of Scott Daniels with a 1:28.889. Duran nikora of V8 fame has adapted quite well by qualifying in 3rd. new comers Iain Mc Intosh and Nick Lowther always improving on their time.

Race:
As the season starts for 2014 Scott McDonald got away cleanly and Nick Lowther got a good jump gaining on the inside line. He failed to pull up in time for turn 1 and went straight into the kitty litter. This left Duran nikora and Scott Daniels to fight it out for P2. Both were doing well untill they come unstuck at turn 15 were they both spun. This left Evan with nowhere to go and plough's into the side of Daniels. Fortunately for him it is directly outside the pit lane entrance where he enters for a new front wing. Daniels follows a lap later to do the same. Five laps in and Scott "ICEMAN" McDonald is coming up to lapped traffic. Lowther has got good pace so ICEMAN plays it cool ;0) by backing off and waiting for his moment to pass. This however is reducing his advantage over Nikora currently in P2. Daniels is hunting down Evan Golbach in P3 as he has brought the gap down to 4 sec's. Lap 9 and ICEMAN pits and Nikora comes in to cover him off. Nikora's pit crew wasn't ready and he lost a good 5 seconds on the leader. lap 11 and ICEMAN McDonald gets tangled up with a back marker as Lowther went too deep under brakes and tagged the back of ICEMAN turning him around.

Evan Golbach is holding firm in P3 with Daniels 50 sec's behind but with a fresh set of tyres he was looking to gain on Golbach. Lowther and McIntosh are within 6 seconds of each other in the fight for P5. Five laps to go and ICEMAN McDonald has a commanding lead out front with Nikora 41 sec's behing in P2. With McDonald's last stint he decides to put on the soft tyres to attempt the fastest lap of the race, something Nikora has been holding onto for the entire race. McDonald is successful by clocking in a 1:28.307 on Lap 38 or 40. The battle between Golbach and Daniels is close. Golbach pits with only 1 lap to go but manages to rejin with a 14 second advantage over P4. Golbach brings it home in P3 while Scott "The ICEMAN" McDonald takes the win ahead of Nikora in 2nd.
